Telkom Group Wins Top Honour for Investor Relations Excellence at Inaugural IRSSA Awards

Telkom Group has been named the 2025 South African Winner for Best Corporate in Investor Relations (Small Cap) by Extel, under the auspices of the Investor Relations Society of South Africa (IRSSA). The award was announced today at the inaugural IRSSA Awards, hosted by the IR Society of South Africa (IRSSA) at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

The awards celebrate excellence in investor relations, recognising companies and professionals who exemplify best practice in transparency, leadership, and strategic communication with the investment community. Extel is a leading provider of independent market intelligence and performance evaluations for stakeholders in the global capital markets, including buy-side, sell-side, and corporate issuers. Its assessments are regarded as a global benchmark for excellence in investor relations and corporate communication.

The Extel Awards evaluate companies across a comprehensive set of categories that reflect the full spectrum of investor relations excellence from executive leadership and financial stewardship to ESG engagement and communication quality. Evaluation criteria include: – Financial Disclosure: Quality, relevance, and consistency of reporting. – Services and Communication: Market knowledge, responsiveness, and credibility of earnings calls. – ESG: Material disclosure metrics, engagement, and alignment with corporate strategy. – Investor/Analyst Engagement: Effectiveness of investor days and overall accessibility. Telkom’s recognition in this category reflects its strong performance across these dimensions, particularly in financial stewardship, capital allocation, governance, and transparent communication led by its executive team and Board of Directors.

The Best Corporate in Investor Relations (Small Cap) category featured other respected South African corporates, including Pick n Pay, Spar, AVI, and African Rainbow Minerals, highlighting the strength of competition and the significance of Telkom’s achievement.

“We are honoured to receive this recognition from Extel and the Investor Relations Society of South Africa,” said Nonkululeko Dlamini, Group Chief Financial Officer at Telkom. “Investor relations is a strategic enabler of our business, it ensures that our stakeholders have a clear understanding of our performance, our purpose, and our long-term value creation strategy. This award affirms our commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence in every engagement”. Dlamini added that the award reflects the collective leadership of Telkom’s Board and executive team led by the Group CEO, Serame Taukobong. “This recognition is proof to the strength of our governance framework and the Board’s firm focus on stewardship, diversity, and strategic oversight.

Our Investor Relations team plays a critical role in translating that vision into credible, consistent, and meaningful communication with the market”. As Telkom celebrates this milestone, the Group remains focused on strengthening transparency, deepening its dialogue with stakeholders, and driving sustainable growth across its operations.
